Microsoft Surface Book MUST HAVE

Maybe it’s time you considered a surface

From the Desk of Jeff Wheeler, Managing Partner of Intelinet Systems

As I have said in previous articles, I walk in and out of customer’s offices almost every day. When it comes to technology, I have a keen eye for spotting technology…duhhh, I’m an owner of an IT services firm. So what is standing out lately? What I’m seeing a lot of is the Microsoft Surface Book Pros.

Lately when I meet with customers, I’m finding them busily taking notes with a surface and a stylus. Walking back to their office (to investigate how they have the MS Surface arranged) I’ll typically see the docking station with a sweet dual monitor set up. I guess it’s “technically” not any different than a normal PC, except for the ease and functionality it provides for its users, especially if you’re running a business—I’ve heard nothing but good things about it for business. In fact, it got 4.5 stars out of 5 which is pretty smoking.

Just imagine…a crystal clear 12 inch screen that you can write on, just like you would taking normal notes! Or, you can clip on the fully functional keyboard and you have a full blown PC.

HOW COOL IS THAT????

But, on to the important stuff… How much does it cost? I think Microsoft really got it right this time around. The MS Surface Pros start around $629.00 and go as high as $1,965.00.

The difference between Surface 3 and Surface Pro 3 is that you can install your own programs or run .exe’s on the Pro. The Surface Non-Pro uses software from the Microsoft Store only, but it’s actually pretty good stuff if that’s the way you want to go.

Another HUGE plus is that the MS Surface Book is lighter and very portable. I carry a full blown laptop that is super fast with lots of memory, but it’s so heavy! Honestly, it’s good for what I do, but I really want something more portable.

How about you? Are you wanting to try one out? If so, give us a call because I’m pretty sure we have a try and buy option. Don’t hold me to it, but since we are authorized on the Surfaces (not many are) we can ask. Tell you what—give me a call today and I’ll find out!

I do believe it’s just a matter of time, the tablet / PC will become the norm before you know it!
